WorkSharasign
A sign-language platform, rebuilt and live
Nazra & Ishara Foundation asked us to replace a system that had become hard to change, without losing what learners relied on. It's live, and the foundation runs it.

- Nazra & Ishara Foundation, Jordan
- Sector
- Education and accessibility
- Our role
- The rebuild: product design, engineering, hosting and go-live

The outcome
Live, and run by the foundation
Sharasign is live at sharasign.com, on a platform the foundation runs and grows itself. Its team publishes lessons and words in the admin, without waiting on a developer.

- 2,600+

- 79
- lessons
- 7
- levels of learning
The challenge
A platform that had become hard to change
Sharasign teaches sign language to Deaf and hard-of-hearing learners and the people around them.
Its sign videos, its full dictionary and its community of learners all sat on a system that had become hard to change. The foundation needed a new platform that kept everything learners rely on.

What had to stay
- Thousands of sign videos
- A full sign dictionary
- A community of learners
Our role
The whole rebuild, through go-live
We rebuilt Sharasign from the ground up and ran it all the way to go-live, from product design to hosting and the launch itself. Design came first, so the foundation saw the whole product before we built it.
How the work ran
- 01
Design first
Approved screens for the web, the admin and the mobile app, before the build began.
- 02
A new foundation
The platform rebuilt from the ground up.
- 03
Content checked
The foundation's curriculum workbooks checked against the platform, so every level matches its source.
- 04
Every release reviewed
The foundation's testers reviewed each release.
- 05
Go-live
From hosting to the launch itself.
- Now
Mobile apps
iOS and Android apps, now in testing.
What users get

For learners
- A learning path from watching to practice: signed video lessons with checkpoints inside each one
- A practice mirror that shows the learner's own camera while they copy a sign, and never records it
- End-of-lesson tests drawn fresh from a question bank on every attempt
- Certificates for each level, which anyone can verify by scanning the QR code
- A sign dictionary, searchable and browsable by category and from A to Z
- Accessibility to WCAG 2.2 AA, with a panel for text size, contrast, reduced motion and video speed

For the foundation
- An admin where the foundation's team runs the content, with a review and publish workflow
- A checklist that stops an incomplete lesson going live
- The foundation's video library kept private to the platform
- Payments on the web
- Mobile apps for iOS and Android, now in testing
Where it stands
Live, with the mobile apps next
The foundation's team runs the content itself. The mobile apps for iOS and Android are in testing, and not yet in the app stores.
